The End?

You're probably asking yourself, "Why haven't I heard much from that gaggle of musically dapper gentlemen by the name of Centaurus?". Well, we have committed to an indefinite hiatus. That might be why.

No one is upset with anyone. It wasn't due to musical differences. In fact, it has more to do with us agreeing that the kind of music we were writing was more of a daunting task than an enjoyable endeavour. We ceased to put effort into our writing other than at practice. We got distracted too often when we were at practice. Perhaps some of us got a bit jaded by the fact that even our home town of Chicago had not yet embraced the music we worked to make over our five years. What it came to was that making, or listening to the music became more work and less fun.

We wanted music to be fun again. We all still enjoy each other's company and plan on doing projects of some caliber in the future. Centaurus may also be in those plans, but it has to come naturally. Forcing music upon yourself is a great way to lose focus on why the people involved do it in the first place. It's supposed to be a good time and keep you level. It's a solid alternative to a homicidal rampage. When it becomes work, it loses its purpose.

We didn't want to lose the fun part of why we do what we do. So we have moved on. Thanks to those of you that enjoyed and encouraged the music. We will see you again. Take care.

In other news...

Centaurus has had to take a back seat to the cursed life of adulthood in the past couple months. With ailing offspring, nuptial gatherings, and up-heaving our personal effects to new dwellings, the music is developing at a slower pace than we would like it to. All the same, we have been writing when we can. We are looking to take a field trip to the studio when we have the material to our liking. It's in the works. Keep checking back, and we'll see you soon.
